The details of design

Updated: Dec 16, 2017

Wouldn't it be great if you could wave a magic wand and have a bedroom like this delivered and set up in your home?

Now you can! I will walk you through the beautiful details in my design work shown above. I chose the fabrics from a variety of companies that coordinate the look. (There are 8 fabrics and trims.) The bedding is all made in Jacksonville, from my local sewing workroom. I have a beautiful headboard with a faux textured leather in gray that was made in North Carolina. Then, I layered two huge pillow shams that match the dust ruffle. Next notice the ruffles and fringe on the accent pillows. I like to use a washable ivory coverlet as a blanket. A duvet or bedcover adds more warmth in this design (because it is in Colorado) but I may skip it in a Florida climate. The nightstands are actually upholstered in cowhides and then detailed with a nailhead design I envisioned. The footstool was made by our local craftsman and then painted by an artist. The same artist painted a monogram on the lampshades too! I love a beautiful patterned wool rug to finish the space and have a soft landing when you get out of bed. I like to choose art that takes me on a journey to a beautiful place. The peaceful painting sets the mood for relaxation and sleep! Don't you just want to crawl in and sleep in this beautiful setting?
